As part of the cross-national Zurich Cloud Transformation Team based in the Barcelona Engineering and Technology Delivery Centre, we support the Business Unit with technological expertise, mainly focusing on Kubernetes platforms to cover the entire application lifecycle.
Your Role
As a Kubernetes Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing support for Cloud incidents and problems, including monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting existing solutions.
- Supporting OpenShift Containers Platform and Kubernetes incidents and problems, with monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Collaborating with development teams to containerize applications and deploy on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Ensuring the security of clusters by following best practices and implementing security controls.
- Automating deployment and management processes using infrastructure as code tools.
- Staying updated with ecosystem developments and proposing improvements.
- Creating technical documentation and defining solutions.
- Collaborating with teammates to evolve the platform and ensure service excellence.
- Learning new technologies and applying them to customer needs.
- Working in an Agile environment to meet stakeholder requirements.
Your Skills and Experience
Ideally, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- At least 1 year of experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes (AKS, EKS), and Docker.
- Experience with programming, scripting, or markup languages such as Bash, Python, JSON, or YAML.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems and command-line administration.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment, managing time effectively and maintaining a strong work ethic.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Helm, Kustomize.
- Knowledge of security protocols (SSO, OAuth2, OpenID, TLS).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana.
- Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, Networking, Policies).
- Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with ticketing tools like JIRA or ServiceNow.
- Experience with Agile development techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.
