Job summary

Sanoma Learning in Madrid, Spain, seeks a Junior Legal Advisor specialized in Intellectual Property to support IP matters, commercial contracts, and digital/tech projects on a hybrid basis. You will work with Spain and Italy teams, drafting and negotiating rights and licenses, while developing autonomy in a dynamic international business environment.

Ideal candidates have IP experience, a law degree (Spain), and strong English.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of professional legal experience with Intellectual Property exposure.
Experience in contract drafting and review.
Not entry-level; practical IP foundation required.
Experience in publishing, education, media, or digital content preferred.
IP, Digital or Technology law experience considered.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice on Intellectual Property related to editorial, educational and digital content.
Draft, review and negotiate rights acquisition, assignment and licensing agreements.
Provide contractual support to Editorial, Digital, Commercial, Marketing, Procurement, Technology and Operations teams.
Draft and review services, SaaS, development, maintenance and supplier contracts.
Support AI and emerging tech projects and their IP implications.
Learn company templates and legal criteria, contributing to templates and queries.
Assist with distribution and channel agreements and commercial models.
Collaborate with Spain/Italy Legal teams and Group-wide legal teams on cross-functional initiatives.
Provide ad hoc support on other Group legal matters as needed.
