Making Science in Madrid is seeking a Junior AI Project Manager to support the PM Lead in the AWAKE Venture Studio. You will coordinate software delivery, run day-to-day Agile workflows, and ensure Jira tracking and project visibility for AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with senior developers and the Lead PM, help with planning and estimations, and apply AI tools to streamline meetings, notes, and reporting while fostering continuous improvement and strong cross-team communication.

• Solid practical knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and hands-on fluency with Jira.
• Confident and autonomous enough to work with senior developers, collect updates, and drive task status updates.
• Keen interest in artificial intelligence with a track record of incorporating AI tools into daily workflow.
• Assisting developers by validating Jira tasks meet basic acceptance criteria before moving to Done.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical updates into clear action items.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Lead PM with daily operational flow in Jira; organize boards and maintain task hygiene.
• Support project status reviews, track task progress, and flag blockers early.
• Assist with daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Experiment with and apply AI tools to speed up meeting notes, task generation, and status reports.
• Maintain up-to-date project documentation and prepare weekly status updates for stakeholders.
• Monitor team velocity and ticket progress to highlight risks to deadlines.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Junior AI Project Manager to join our team and work with our PM Lead in our AWAKE Venture Studio department within Making Science.

In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating software delivery, running day-to-day Agile workflows, maintaining clear project visibility and driving exciting AI Solutions to market.

You will work closely with our Lead PM and development teams, helping with project plannings and estimations, doing task reviews directly with developers to ensure accurate Jira tracking and successful project delivery.

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about leveraging modern AI tools to streamline project management processes, optimize documentation, and improve team productivity.

What we’d like you to do

Agile Execution & Jira Management: Assist the Lead PM with the daily operational flow in Jira. Organize boards, maintain task hygiene, track dependencies, and ensure ticket descriptions/acceptance criteria are clear.

Developer Engagement & Technical Reviews: Assist the Lead PM with project status reviews - helping to check task progress in Jira, updating statuses, and flagging blockers early.

Agile Ceremonies: Support daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint retrospectives (Scrum/Kanban).

AI Integration & Process Innovation: Actively experiment with and apply AI tools (e.g., Claude, automated summaries etc ) to speed up meeting notes, task generation, status reports, and workflows.

Documentation & Reporting: Help to maintain up-to-date project documentation , create clear sprint summaries, and help to prepare weekly status updates for internal stakeholders.

Scope & Timeline Tracking: Help to monitor team velocity and individual ticket progress to highlight risks to deadlines before they impact deliverable targets.

Experience: 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience in project coordination, sprint support, or project management support roles.

Agile & Jira: Solid practical knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and hands‑on fluency with Jira.

Developer Collaboration & Autonomy: Confident and autonomous enough to sit down with senior developers, to collect updates when needed, and drive task status updates smoothly, reporting to the Lead PM

AI Enthusiast: Keen interest in artificial intelligence with a track record of incorporating AI tools into your daily workflow to boost personal efficiency.

Basic Quality Assurance (QA) Awareness: Assisting developers by validating that completed Jira tasks meet basic acceptance criteria before moving them to "Done."

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical updates into clear action items.
