Job summary

Elawan Energy is seeking an O&M High Voltage Engineer – Substations to join its Corporate O&M team. You will support electrical infrastructure across an international renewable energy asset portfolio, covering substations, transmission lines, protection and control systems, and associated facilities.

The role involves coordinating with grid operators, maintaining high safety standards, and contributing to asset management across multiple countries. Occasional site travel is required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering with Electrical specialization.
• Master’s in Power Systems or HV Engineering is desirable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in electrical substations and HV transmission infrastructure; protection and control experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the corporate technical reference for MV/HV substations, transmission lines, protection and control systems and related electrical infrastructure.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure to improve reliability, availability and safety, promoting standardisation.
• Coordinate with grid operators and DSOs; manage switching operations, incidents, permits, energisations and regulatory requirements.
• Manage protection studies, relay coordination and grid code compliance.
• Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for faults and incidents with corrective action plans.
• Coordinate work on high‑voltage installations ensuring safety standards are met.
• Support technical specs, tenders, bid evaluations and contract management for electrical infrastructure.
• Provide technical support during development, construction and commissioning of new projects.
