Life as a Junior HR Generalist at Merkle

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Junior HR Generalist who is fluent in both Spanish and English to support our HR operations across Spain and other EMEA markets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Spanish labor laws and experience in HR practices across multiple regions. This role will focus on compliance, HR data management, and serving as the single point of contact for our HR Shared Service Center, ensuring seamless HR service delivery across Spain and the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Employee Experience and Relations :
  • Manage and enhance the onboarding process, ensuring new hires receive a seamless and engaging experience.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with the new joiners to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Serve as a trusted HR contact for employees, addressing queries and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in retention and engagement.
  • Single Point of Contact for HR Shared Service Center :
  • Act as the main liaison between the HR Shared Service Center and local teams in Spain and other EMEA markets.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of HR queries and issues raised by employees and managers.
  • Coordinate with the HR Shared Service Center to streamline HR processes and improve service delivery.
  • HR Operations :
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations in Spain and support other EMEA markets as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure consistency and compliance across regions.
  • Support the coordination and execution of employee benefits programs, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple countries.
  • Facilitate internal communication and ensure that employees are informed of HR policies, changes, and updates.
  • Compliance & Legal :
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies in Spain and other EMEA markets.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in employment laws, particularly in Spain, and advise the HR team and management accordingly.
  • HR Data & Reporting :
  • Maintain and update HR databases and systems with employee information.
  • Generate regular HR reports on key metrics such as headcount, turnover, and employee satisfaction.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management.

What we are looking for in you :

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of HR generalist experience, preferably with exposure to HR practices in Spain and other EMEA markets.
  • Knowledge & Skills :
  • Strong understanding of Spanish labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Familiarity with employment laws across other EMEA countries is a plus.
  • Proficient in Workday and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
  • Analytical Skills :
  • Experience with HR data management and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret HR metrics and provide actionable insights.
