Job Description

We are expanding our services, and to support this growth, we are looking for a Junior Digital Communications Officer to join our Policy in Action team.

PIA provides programme and network support, technical assistance, and mutual (peer-based) learning and training services to European Union (EU) institutions.

Our portfolio of projects covers a range of policy areas, including employment, labour market, social inclusion and protection, education and training, and migration.

About The Role

The role will involve supporting the digital communications of several projects.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in digital communications who is willing to expand their knowledge and progress within this role at ICF.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  1. Support content creation for communication outputs, with focus on social media (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram) and newsletters.
  2. Ensure all online content follows the relevant project style guide and complies with accessibility requirements.
  3. Sourcing relevant multimedia (photos, videos) to accompany online content and make minor edits.
  4. Supporting and monitoring functional mailboxes, handling requests for communication outputs.
  5. Supporting the sourcing of suppliers for a variety of events and communication activities including videographer, photographers, and promotional materials.
  6. Liaising with communications manager and specialists to improve and seek opportunities with increasing visibility of projects.

What We Are Looking For

  1. University degree or equivalent experience in communications/cross media or a related discipline.
  2. A first experience through an internship or traineeship in public sector institutions.
  3. Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  4. Experience developing written copy for social media and newsletters.
  5. With the support of graphic designers and communications specialists, develop visually compelling digital outputs (i.e. for social media, newsletters, and in-person events).
  6. Knowledge of tools like Social Pilot, Hootsuite, CleverReach, Mailchimp, and/or Canva is a plus.
  7. Experience in social media analytics, monitoring trends, and conducting comprehensive analysis is a plus.
  8. Strong organisational and coordination skills, including time management, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including interacting with multi-national and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
  10. A C1 (or equivalent) level of English is required.
