Elawan Energy is a global operator in the renewable energy industry. We specialize in providing integrated solutions across the entire lifecycle of clean energy, from the promotion, development, and construction of wind farms, photovoltaic plants, and hydroelectric power stations, to their operation, maintenance, and the sale of the generated clean energy. This is a JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE based in MADRID. Preference will be given to candidates residing in or near the area.

Mission:

As a Junior Financial Accountant at Elawan Energy, your mission will be to contribute to the financial health and accuracy of our operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Reconcile accounts and meticulously maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in strict adherence to accounting principles and reporting schedules.
  • Provide essential support for the monthly accounting pre-closure activities across different territories, ensuring accuracy and completeness for final reporting.
  • Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information with precision to prepare insightful financial reports and accounting statements for the senior management team.
  • Create and modify master data as required, contributing to efficient and effective financial data management in SAP Fi, with analytical accounting in SAP, using various cost objects such as WBS elements, statistical orders, and cost centers.
  • Execute the reconciliation of international balances and manage accounting compensations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Actively participate in the Company's audit process, taking responsibility for preparing and thoroughly reviewing the information required by auditors.
  • Extend your responsibilities to include checking and reconciling bank statements, playing a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.
  • Contribute to the optimization of the corporate ERP (SAP) in accounting, proposing improvements and participating in report design to enhance overall efficiency in the accounting domain.
  • Verify financial, administrative, and legal documents according to accounting and tax regulations.
  • Post (book-keeping) all types of transactions.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile general ledger accounts as well as payables and receivables.
  • Prepare tax declarations.
  • Support Financial & Controlling Manager in day-to-day professional duties.
  • Review and prepare payment schedules, spend-trackers, and quarterly reporting.

Requirements and Personal Skills:

  • Education: Degree in Accounting and Treasury, Business Admin, Finance or similar.
  • Experience: Ideally 1+ years of experience in accounting departments.
  • Specific Knowledge: Advanced Excel. Knowledge of SAP and other reporting systems, such as BPC will be an asset.
  • Travels: Willingness to travel.
  • Personal skills: Accuracy, attention to detail, good organizational and analytical skills, flexibility, and proactivity.
