Senior Java Developer - Backend (f / m / d)

Location : Frankfurt or Nuremberg

Responsibilities

• Build robust backend components with Java, Spring Boot, and OpenShift to ensure a solid foundation for online banking and customer experience.
• Participate in all phases from conception to go-live and further development, including designing, developing, and testing.
• Maintain high code quality through clean coding practices, code reviews, pair programming, and comprehensive testing.
• Collaborate with product owners and customer journey experts to conceptualize epics, features, and user stories, contributing technical expertise to clarify business requirements.
• Coordinate with other development teams and external service providers to ensure smooth interfaces, design, and implementation.
• Contribute to security and governance topics and document technical processes thoroughly.

Your Profile

• Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Practical experience with Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and Git.
• Interest in JVM languages (Kotlin), container technologies (Docker, OpenShift), and CI / CD tools (e.g., Azure Pipelines).
• Enthusiasm for digital authentication processes (eID), messaging / event streaming (Kafka), databases (Oracle), and ELK stack.
• Strong communication skills, conceptual ability, and understanding of professional and technical processes, including customer perspectives.
• Agile mindset, curiosity, eagerness to learn, and team enjoyment.
• Creative thinking and ability to develop sustainable solutions.
• Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
