About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head (Non-Academic) to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This is a key leadership role responsible for safeguarding, pastoral care, policy development, admissions, marketing, sports, enrichment, and careers guidance. The Deputy Head will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the school’s strategic vision while ensuring student well-being and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of the School’s Development Plan.
  • Act as a visible and approachable leader for students, staff, and parents.
  • Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring compliance with local and international safeguarding standards.
  • Oversee student well-being and pastoral systems, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide training for staff on safeguarding best practices.
  • Lead the development and implementation of extracurricular programs, student clubs, leadership initiatives, and trips.
  • Ensure alignment of enrichment activities with academic objectives and student personal growth.
  • Sports & Careers Leadership
  • Oversee the sports programme, ensuring a balanced and inclusive offering.
  • Develop partnerships to enhance career guidance, university pathways, and internship opportunities.
  • Admissions & Marketing
  • Lead the admissions process, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective students and families.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to enhance the school’s profile locally and internationally.
  • Represent the school at educational fairs and recruitment events.
  • Ensure all policies, including safeguarding, student welfare, and staff conduct, comply with relevant regulations.
  • Regularly update school policies to align with best practices.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A highly motivated leader and strategic thinker with experience in British or international education.
  • Strong background in safeguarding, student well-being, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire students and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solution-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred).
  • Teaching Qualification (PGCE, QTS) desirable.
  • Experience in senior leadership (Deputy Head, Assistant Head, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in safeguarding, pastoral care, marketing, sports, and enrichment.
  • Understanding of British education system and international school leadership.
