Computer scientist (m / f / d) for the application operation TKÜ

As the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) makes a significant contribution to the security of citizens.

Its tasks

You will support our team in the operation of applications, operating systems and firewalls in the area of telecommunications surveillance (TKÜ). You will also be involved in the needs-based planning and further development of IT procedures and special networks. You will provide 1st and 2nd level support for the procedures you are responsible for and cooperate with internal and external bodies, particularly in the areas of IT security, confidentiality and data protection.

Salary and prospects

• Permanent employment up to pay grade 11 TV EntgO Bund (gross annual salary of €51,614 to €76,482)
• Possibility of subsequent civil servant status
• Transfer of civil servants up to A 11 BBesO A if the requirements under career law are met
• Payment of an intelligence service allowance, IT specialist allowance and other salary increases possible after individual case assessment
• Depending on the possibility of recognition of qualifications and previous experience

Your profile

You are a German citizen and have:

• A degree (Bachelor / Diploma [FH]) in the field of computer science, technical computer science, business informatics or media informatics, or
• Equivalent skills and experience based on corresponding activities through proof as "other employee", or
• Equivalent skills based on several years of professional experience relevant to the job

Students who complete such a degree no later than twelve months after the application deadline can also apply.

In addition, we expect:

• Knowledge of configuration and administration in at least one of the areas Linux, network or firewall
• High sense of responsibility and quality awareness
• Willingness to work flexible hours (e.g. on-call duty, duty outside regular working hours)
• Willingness to undergo further professional training
• High level of communication skills and strong ability to work in a team
