As a Java Architect on a Digital Healthcare Team, you will play a crucial role in leading the technical design and development of the core backend infrastructure and systems that power our data-driven healthcare applications. You will be responsible for designing and developing a modular backend platform and APIs. This role requires strong backend software development expertise, an understanding of healthcare data standards, and privacy and security requirements.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing consumer-centric and healthcare professional-focused digital tools aimed at improving medication adherence and health outcomes. The role requires leadership, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and technical expertise to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Project Overview :

The Digital Healthcare Team seeks a skilled Backend Software Engineering Lead to support the development of digital care and life management programs targeting chronic conditions like diabetes. We are building a digital health platform to empower patients and caregivers to manage health journeys effectively. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of Java development experience in healthcare, and 4+ years of experience with modular development on AWS.

Essential skills include experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), interoperability frameworks, and knowledge of security best practices for handling PHI and sensitive data. Multicultural awareness is also important for collaborating with global teams.

Responsibilities include leading the design and development of backend services such as content management, consent management, workflow automation, remote patient monitoring, medication management, survey management, in-app messaging, and voice/video integration. You will implement development and testing tools, ensure security and compliance with healthcare standards, design efficient data schemas, create scalable architecture, develop monitoring systems, collaborate with front-end teams, and ensure regulatory compliance including HIPAA and HITECH.
