Obsidian is seeking a meticulous Japanese language annotator for a data-annotation program focused on complex documents. You will identify and bound meaningful regions, reproduce text exactly, including kanji, kana, furigana, and handwritten content, and ensure correct reading order.

You are a native Japanese speaker with exceptional attention to detail and experience in transcription or editorial work. Comfortable with vertical text, multi-column layouts, and diverse document types, you will

Formación

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana, including furigana and variant character forms.
• Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial work, or comparable document-intensive work.
• Character-level accuracy is essential; speed is secondary.
• Apply a consistent taxonomy across hundreds of pages rather than improvising per document.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts such as vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms.

Responsabilidades

• Source Japanese PDFs that contain multimodal elements and record the source.
• Annotate structure by bounding every meaningful region and assigning a component type and reading-order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully, reproducing all text exactly as it appears in Japanese script, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata (language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting).
• Review a colleague's work; participate in end-to-end review by a second expert.
