DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in Italian to join our team in Italy, working remotely on data curation and evaluation.

Role Summary

As a Linguist, you will curate and evaluate linguistic data, review outputs from speech models, and execute scripts for task automation. You will also provide feedback based on data analysis.

Role Responsibilities

• Curate and evaluate linguistic data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Review and assess outputs generated by speech models
• Execute scripts via command line for task automation or data handling (running, not developing)
• Provide feedback and draw conclusions based on the analyzed data
• Collaborate with the team to improve data quality and processes

Job Requirements

• Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher in Linguistics
• Strong understanding of linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology
• Knowledge of phonetic transcription (e.g., IPA)
• Experience with phoneme labeling, analyzing audio for phonetic patterns, or conducting annotations in TTS / ASR systems is a plus
• Previous experience in data curation, evaluation, or linguistic analysis is a plus
• Idiomatic fluency in Italian
• Advanced level of English
• Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
