A leading company in human resources seeks a telecom design professional to create and manage optical designs for FTTH infrastructure. This role involves collaboration with project managers and survey teams to produce designs while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards. Candidates must possess relevant experience in telecommunications and proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS.

Formación

• Minimum 2+ years of experience working on telecom networks, preferably fiber optic.
• Category B driver’s license holder.
• Mandatory experience of 2+ years of designing in AutoCAD/GIS.

Responsabilidades

• Liaise between Project Manager and stakeholders to produce optical design.
• Create high level and low level designs, ensuring compliance with customer processes.
• Supervise the creation of the Bill of Quantities and conduct daily meetings with survey teams.

Skills
Graduate of ETC, Mechanical, Construction or a degree in a relevant subject or a combination of certifications and experience.
Category B driver’s license holder
Minimum 2+ years of experience working on telecom networks, preferably fiber optic
Plus experience designing FTT (H/P/X) networks.
Mandatory experience of 2+ years of designing in AutoCAD / GIS
Plus PON (Passive Optical Network) understanding.
Plus knowledge of the types and standards of optical fibers.

Job description
Liaise between the Project Manager and internal stakeholders to produce the optical design.
The main activity is to create high level and low level design, which involves identifying backhaul solutions and cabinet locations, choosing a method of implementing the appropriate fibers, performing calculations regarding link loss budget and installing junction boxes.
Analyzes the data from the survey reports using Google Earth as a reference point and ensuring the connection with both internal employees and external contractors to solve any problems identified.
Conducts daily meetings with the survey teams, thus ensuring that all necessary feedback is transferred to the design team and vice versa.
Produces optical models based on Auto Cad.
Transfer survey data in excel format.
Produces Bill of Materials, catalogs and tracks materials and stocks needed for project implementation, such as optical installation and construction equipment and kits.
Provides support and supervises the creation of the Bill of Quantities.
Controls the quality of the engineering and optical design activity, making field visits when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all customer processes and procedures regarding the construction of FTTH infrastructure.
