Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Support Technician provides first-line IT support to Toppan Digital Language’s staff and helps resolve hardware and software issues.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Procurement of IT equipment in line with budgeted plans and maintaining IT inventories.
- Setup and deployment of IT equipment, especially for new starters.
- Management of IT duties during staff end of employment processes.
- Serving as the first point of contact for IT Support within the Organisation, which includes on-call support for users in the US or APAC as well as over weekends in alternation with other members of the IT team.
- Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
- Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components.
- Secure disposal of equipment and assets in line with company policies.
- Updating computer software and upgrading hardware systems and equipment.
- Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading components (e.g., antivirus, firewall software, etc.).
- Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
- Maintaining databases and ensuring system security.
- Documenting processes and maintaining technical documentation regularly.
- Testing new hardware and software before full-scale roll-out.
- Any work delivered must be compliant with Toppan Digital Language’s ISMS policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar or suitable experience proven through certifications and diplomas.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support technician roles.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Practical experience of supporting both onsite and remote users with computer setup, hardware and software issues.
- Practical experience with internet and network security protocols.
- Microsoft365 administration or roll-out experience (Azure AD, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- Experience of IT support within the localization industry advantageous.
- Experience in writing process documentation and technical instructions.
- Experience with remote user support tools.
