Job Responsibilities
  1. Participate and contribute to the design, building, and maintenance of financial models for renewable energy projects to support decision-making and analysis in Project Finance and M&A transactions within the company's sector and geographic areas.
  2. Prepare and adapt financial models to assess M&A opportunities and raise project financing with lenders.
  3. Implement technical, PPA-CfD, financing, accounting, and tax assumptions in the financial model in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors. Run sensitivities with management for valuations and proposal offers in M&A processes (NBOs and BOs).
  4. Examine different structuring alternatives in received Term Sheets, considering risk, returns, leverage/equity requirements, and other financial factors.
  5. Coordinate the due diligence process with involved advisors, oversee provision of information, and supervise their work (legal, technical, insurance, model audit) shared with lenders, sellers, and buyers.
  6. Participate in the negotiation and closing of finance, security, and acquisition-sale documents with legal advisors. Lead the collection of internal approvals, documentation, KYC, and CP information.
  7. Monitor financings during construction and operation phases, including updating financial models, ensuring compliance with covenants, and managing waivers, restructurings, or refinancings.
  8. Perform other duties as requested by senior management on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
  1. At least 5 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining financial models for renewable energy projects supporting decision-making and transactions in Project Finance and M&A.
  2. Proficiency with sophisticated Excel-based project finance models and modeling skills specific to Project Finance and M&A.
  3. Strong credit and financial analysis skills, with the ability to work on complex financial models.
  4. High attention to detail, numeracy, and accuracy.
  5. Experience working in an investment analysis, M&A, or project finance team, managing complex due diligence processes with multiple advisors.
  6. Experience negotiating complex project finance legal documentation and drafting related agreements.
  7. Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
  8. Proven deal execution experience.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural team.
  10. Previous experience in banking, infrastructure/energy companies, debt advisory firms, or Big 4 with strong financial modeling skills.
  11. Experience coordinating due diligence processes with legal, technical, market, insurance advisors, and lenders.
  12. Experience negotiating term sheets and financing documentation with financial institutions and investors is advantageous.
  13. Exposure to European markets such as Italy, Romania, Poland, Spain, and the UK.
  14. Familiarity with solar PV, wind, and battery storage technologies.
  15. Knowledge of CfDs and PPA contracts.
  16. Languages: English required; Spanish, Italian, Polish, Romanian, or Hebrew are a plus.
  17. Based in Madrid with a flexible home/office working environment.
