Integration Solution Architect
Your Impact as Integration Solution Architect: What are you going to do
As an Integration Solution Architect, you turn business needs into clear, implementable integration requirements and end-to-end designs. You connect consumers, providers and platform teams, maximise the reuse of enterprise capabilities and APIs, and create the architecture artefacts needed to onboard countries consistently and securely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translate business needs into integration requirements by working with business owners, product owners and delivery teams to clarify outcomes, data, events, service levels, security needs and operational constraints.
- Identify reusable capabilities and APIs across the enterprise landscape; assess fit-for-purpose, promote reuse before build, and document capability or API gaps that require enhancement or new investment.
- Analyse consumers and providers by mapping ownership, contracts, dependencies, data responsibilities, expected volumes, availability, versioning and lifecycle needs.
- Define end-to-end integration designs covering process orchestration, APIs, events, data flows, error handling, observability, security, connectivity and non-functional requirements.
- Select appropriate integration patterns such as synchronous REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, batch or file exchange, based on business criticality and technical constraints.
- Document architecture patterns and sequence diagrams using clear, version-controlled artefacts that delivery teams, platform teams and governance bodies can review and implement.
- Specify API and event contracts including interfaces, schemas, authentication and authorization, idempotency, error models, retries, timeouts, correlation and compatibility expectations.
- Drive alignment between consumers, providers and platform teams resolving cross-team dependencies early and preventing fragmented or duplicate solutions.
- Support country onboarding by assessing local needs against shared capabilities, defining onboarding designs, identifying gaps and guiding teams through implementation and readiness decisions.
- Facilitate refinement and delivery by breaking designs into actionable enablers and backlog items, answering implementation questions and resolving architecture blockers.
- Ensure secure and operable solutions through the correct use of API gateways, identity standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, encryption, certificates, monitoring, logging and platform guardrails.
- Follow solutions through to production supporting testing, cutover, production hardening and continuous improvement based on implementation feedback and measurable outcomes.
Technical background for Integration Architecture:
- Integration architecture: End-to-end integration design; consumer/provider analysis; capability mapping; domain-driven design; synchronous and asynchronous integration; event-driven architecture; orchestration and choreography.
- API and event design: REST, OpenAPI, API lifecycle and versioning, API gateways and API Management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, mTLS, JSON schemas, event contracts, error handling and observability.
- Architecture tooling: Sequence diagrams and C4/UML modelling; tools such as PlantUML, Mermaid, Visio or equivalent; Azure DevOps or Jira/Confluence; SwaggerHub and Postman. Azure integration services are valuable, including API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps and Functions.
Who you’ll work with:
You’ll join a multidisciplinary integration and API community working across business units, countries and shared platforms. Your key partners include business and product owners, country technology teams, API consumers and providers, platform engineering, security, data and delivery teams. You’ll facilitate design and refinement sessions in English, turning different needs and constraints into a shared integration approach that teams can deliver. You’ll coordinate closely with Tech Leads and Product Owners, while supporting country teams from initial discovery through onboarding and production readiness. You are Cloud Solution Architect and will be in coordination with the Tech Lead, implementing the CORE solution.

- Designing end-to-end integrations across multiple systems, teams, domains or countries.
- Analysing API and event consumers and providers, including ownership, contracts, dependencies and non-functional requirements.
- Finding and evaluating reusable capabilities and APIs, with a reuse-first approach and clear gap analysis.
- Creating integration patterns, context views, data-flow views and sequence diagrams that are easy to implement and govern.
- Supporting backlog refinement, country onboarding, technical decision-making and production readiness.
