Delivers straightforward administrative and/or other basic business services in Utilization Management. Assigns client to appropriate staff member or behavioral health network provider for assessment and counseling. Serves as initial contact for clients and their eligible dependents requesting services. Responsible for customer service and relevant standards such as telephone response time. May make referrals within stated limits. Issues tend to be routine in nature. Good knowledge and understanding of Intake Care and business/operating processes and procedures. Works to clearly defined procedures under close supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Intake Care Representative is a member of the Clinical team and works closely with the Ops team.

KEY AREAS:

  • Processes GOPS and takes ownership of cases as required.
  • Works on sensitive/escalated cases as required.
  • Follows established departmental policies and procedures to process & triage GOPs.
  • Liaises with hospitals in case additional info is needed.
  • Negotiates discounts with providers.
  • Steers members to alternative providers.
  • Liaises and ensures efficient coordination with the medical/case management teams.
  • Works independently and effectively communicates with internal and external customers by telephone and email.
  • Maintains accurate workflow and process documents.

  • Convey messages in clear language, pay attention to specific circumstances and appropriate style.
  • Customer-focused: communicates empathically.
  • Skilled decision-maker: takes the right action on dedicated files based on the information available.
  • Accurate: works accurately by giving complete and correct answers. Good negotiation skills.
  • Responsible: ensures that assigned contracts are followed up in a diligent, timely and accurate manner.

What we require:

  • You are able to commit to 39 hour/week.
  • You are able to commit to 6 week induction training.
  • You are available to work one of these shifts: Monday to Friday 12:15 to 20:02.
