Field-based Sales Engineer
Brief Role Description
The role of a field-based sales engineer is to achieve continuous sales and profit growth, being responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned portfolio of ‘value-add’ type customers within a specific territory, though building strong relationships with the different customers’ stakeholders with a consultative-selling approach, mostly via on-site visits.

Primary responsibilities
- Ethically achieve Sales Targets to deliver real terms order growth through providing superior value to our customers, thereby creating sustainable partnerships
- Exhibit good Health, Safety and Quality behaviors. Always demonstrate Company Values. Ensure laws, policies & procedures are complied with.
- Applying Sales Excellence Program seek Self-Generated Growth opportunities and integrate these into Sales Plan. Use CONSULTATIVE SELLING to UNCOVER CUSTOMER PAINS & GAINS to identify winning solutions
- Develop and deliver Territory, Account and Call Plans that expand priority sectors to achieve planned growth
- Apply a well structure sales process (QQQQ). Regularly, and rigorously, use PIPELINE MANAGEMENT within decision making. Effective and accurate use of CRM.
- Win business that drives superior value for our customers and ourselves
- Create trustable and long-term relations with the customers.
- Manage the proposal process and develop strategies to ensure the most competitive technical and commercial offer is done.
- Communicate effectively with plant personel, customer service, and all stakeholders to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Become a specialist in product and Total Customer Solutions, including digital solutions
- Become the company representant at the group Chemical Sales Community of Practice
- Meet and/or exceed the sales level.
For this position it is required:
- Diploma or Graduate Engineer, with minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in technical sales.
- Knowledge in steam and condensate systems
- knowledge of the chemical market and chemical process will be much appreciated
- Ability to generate new business and opportunities for the company within the customers.
- Experience in technical sales. Sales experience and knowledge of the market in the area of responsibility will also be important
- Candidate must be used to manage technical requisitions from engineering’s or end customers and be able to maintain technical discussions with customers.
- Medium-High English level, written and spoken.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proactive, self-starter with a hands-on approach to solving problems.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Very good technique of written and oral expression.
- To be resistant to stress and able to absorb a substantial amount of work.
- Disposition to travel in the Spanish territory (30-40% of his/her time may be required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Driving License.
