A university in Marbella is seeking an IT Specialist to manage information technology services. The role involves supporting IT processes and ensuring the security and efficiency of systems. Formación

Descripción del empleo

This is a position that implies support of major IT processes appearing in a university environment.

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the IT Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of information technology services and support across the organisation and processes. The position serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. You will be responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology.

Your principal tasks will be:

  1. Responsible for maintenance and backup of internal development servers
  2. Responsible for maintaining telecommunication and web systems
  3. Check and maintain the security of the website
  4. Monitor or optimise the performance, security, backup, and recovery of the database
  5. Sustain a coded landing page and make changes on it
  6. Maintain the library platform
  7. Maintain the CRM
  8. Execute CRM integrations with Google, Facebook etc.
  9. Establish procedures to ensure the readiness, quality, and accuracy of websites and online platforms
  10. Provide technical advice and assistance to office staff, faculty, and students as needed
  11. Check the wired network system and Wi-Fi on site
  12. Check and maintain the security cameras
  13. Manage printers and cables
  14. Manage Student Record System, Blackboard, CMR (Tribal SITS), Unit E, Panopto, Blackboard Collaborate
  15. Take care of cameras for class recordings and Google Meet
  16. Update and install software regularly
  17. Ensure hardware functions properly
  18. Deliver training on e-whiteboards

Minimum qualifications:

  • English: conversational
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in database administration, development, and web design
  • Knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods; systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools; IT security principles and methods
  • Good experience in HTML, MySQL, PHP, CSS, JavaScript
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work in an international environment
  • Experience in server support
  • Experience working with CRM
  • Experience with ads platform integrations
  • Experience in Blackboard platform management

Preferable to have:

  • Proficiency with VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other network security technologies
