Pharmaceutical Data and AI Regulatory Intelligence Expert (Contract – Barcelona)

We are supporting a global pharmaceutical organisation in the search for a Regulatory Intelligence Expert with strong experience in AI, data, and privacy compliance.

Location : Barcelona (hybrid – up to 3 days per week onsite)

Start Date : ASAP (May)

Engagement Type : Freelance / Contractor

Role Overview :

You will lead the implementation of regulatory intelligence tools and define a robust, enterprise-wide framework to manage regulatory change across data and AI initiatives. This includes working closely with compliance, risk, and business teams to ensure consistent and effective regulatory governance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Advise on and support the implementation of regulatory intelligence tools, including scope definition, requirements mapping, and approach development.
• Define and document a comprehensive Data and AI Regulatory Intelligence Framework, including :
• Operating model for regulatory intelligence capability and consumer groups
• Defined roles and accountabilities
• Regulatory change impact risk scoring matrix
• Enterprise-wide regulatory change assessment template, aligned with functional needs
• Stakeholder feedback mechanisms and framework review cadence
• Recommendations for centralised horizon scanning processes
• Guidance on regulatory interpretation and mandatory requirements
• Compliance monitoring and enforcement practices

Required Skills and Experience :

• Proven expertise in AI Ethics and AI Safety
• Strong understanding of GenAI ethics and compliance
• Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks and standards
• Background in privacy regulations affecting AI and data use
• Experience in security and risk management, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector

This role is suited to a seasoned regulatory professional with cross-functional experience across AI, data governance, and compliance in highly regulated industries.
