We manage the delivery of content, campaigns, and ads across digital platforms, linear channels, and live events. Additionally, we oversee the archive, ensuring its value is preserved and leveraged as a vital resource for storytelling and digital engagement.

Job Description

As part of the Digital Operations Department, the Information Architecture Manager will take ownership of the design, maintenance, and evolution of the information architecture framework and tagging ontology. This role is central to structuring and organizing content through robust taxonomies, metadata schemas, and semantic models that enhance discoverability and usability. By ensuring the seamless integration of these frameworks with search functionality and digital platforms, the Information Architecture Manager will empower the delivery of engaging storytelling experiences, improve audience engagement, and support the strategic goals of Olympics.com.

The job level for this position will be determined based on the successful candidate's expertise and the organization's assessment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Design, Own, and Manage Tagging Frameworks : Develop, own, and maintain robust metadata schemas, taxonomies, and semantic models to optimize the organization, discoverability, and accessibility of all content formats, including video, articles, and multimedia. Oversee the creation, alignment, and synchronization of tagging concepts across systems and stakeholders, ensuring a unified and efficient ontology framework.
  2. Strategize for Platform Readiness and Optimize Content Architecture : Oversee content ingestion and tagging workflows to ensure content is publication-ready, aligned with platform requirements, and optimized for audience engagement. Conduct regular audits of content structures and review the Olympics.com digital content catalogue (VODs, news articles, and archives) to ensure metadata consistency and alignment with organizational goals. Establish and enforce standards for tagging, and retrieval to ensure long-term usability and quality of all digital assets.
  3. Drive Digital Distribution and Monitor Performance : Design tagging strategies tailored to optimize user engagement, leveraging analytics and audience insights for distribution across web, mobile, and OTT. Use analytics tools to track digital engagement, identify trends, and refine tagging strategies to align with audience preferences and improve discoverability.
  4. Collaborate for Content Excellence : Partner with original Content Creators, News Editors, and the Digital Engagement Marketing (DEM) team to streamline workflows, ensure proper preparation for content and campaign activations, and maintain alignment with brand and audience standards. Act as a liaison between Product, DEM, TechOps, and Editorial to align tagging concepts and strategies with organizational objectives and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  5. Innovate and Adopt Emerging Technologies : Stay at the forefront of new digital technologies, integrating advanced tools to enhance digital storytelling capabilities and improve platform functionality.
  6. Support Multilingual and SEO-Optimized Content : Design workflows and tagging systems that account for multilingual content complexities, ensuring consistency and accessibility across diverse languages. Ensure all tagging aligns with SEO best practices to maximize audience reach and engagement.

Skills, Requirements & Qualifications

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Engineering / Data preferred)
  • Expertise in creating, building and managing information architecture, taxonomy development, metadata management, and semantic modelling.
  • Knowledge of the structure of Olympic sports events and their unique requirements is a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of search engine optimization, UX, and text analysis techniques.
  • Analytical mindset with a proven ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse content types and managing multilingual platforms.
  • Passion for digital storytelling and engaging global audiences through innovative content operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Fast paced work environment.

This is a permanent position based in our offices in Madrid. Remote work up to 30% of the quarter. Opportunity to travel to the Games.
