Job Description

The Industrial Cybersecurity Assessor will evaluate the security of network-connectable devices, products, and industrial equipment systems. This includes analyzing products under evaluation, supporting and training engineers for evaluation projects.

Working on connected technologies such as Industrial OT/IIoT, IoT, using the security framework, certification as per IEC-62443 standards within ecosystems like Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, and Industry 4.0, Factory Automation.

The ideal candidate shall possess an understanding of OT fundamentals and best cybersecurity practices.

This is a hybrid role based in Europe.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized guidance and support to customers, including project planning, training, assessment, documentation, and implementation.
• Write formal reports aligning with customer and certification scheme requirements.
• Support IEC 62443 certification of components, products, and systems.
• Assist the Project Management team with evaluation scoping, resource requirements, certification expectations, and project delivery within deadlines.
• Identify industry trends and develop expertise by coaching colleagues and increasing customer awareness through papers, articles, and conferences.
• Update UL and industry technical security requirements collaboratively with the Software & Security team.
• Support the security team in enhancing UL’s assurance programs and services.
• Provide high-level technical support to operations and internal staff, including planning, logistics, procedures, training, and quality issues.
• Support sales efforts for complex projects.
• Ensure internal procedures such as project updates, invoicing, and administrative processes are followed.

Qualifications

• University Degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Instrumentation and Controls, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in customer advisory services and technical expertise.
• Experience with IEC 62443, industrial automation, control systems (DCS/ICS/SCADA/PLC/OT Protocols/OT security).
• Proven experience in customer-facing projects and product certification methodologies.
• Competency in cybersecurity domains such as Risk Management, Asset Security, Network Security, and IAM.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate presentations and adapt to various environments.
