A leading academic publishing company is seeking an In-House Senior Editor in Barcelona to oversee content creation and publication. Responsibilities include managing peer reviews, writing editorials, and ensuring high-quality publications. The ideal candidate should have a Medical degree or PhD in a relevant field, exceptional English writing skills, and the ability to engage with global stakeholders. About the Role
As an In-House Senior Editor, you will oversee the creation and publication of original content. You will take ownership for overseeing submissions and quality peer reviews to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research.
Responsibilities
Arranging peer review and commissioning content;
Scanning medical literature and news to keep up-to-date with developments;
Attending conferences and academic meetings, along with laboratory and institutional visits;
Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and commentaries and publishing correspondence to build the journal’s profile among the communities we serve;
Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future developments and enhancements to our journal.
Requirements
Have a Medical degree with clinical experience or PhD in related field with postdoctoral experience;
Demonstrate great knowledge of biological and medical sciences;
Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner;
Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with members of the medical profession, the media and colleagues;
Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office;
Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time;
Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community;
Be able to travel to internationally for meetings and conferences.
