The Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) invites talented students to apply for their competitive PhD Programme in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Offer Description

The ICN2 offers a competitive PhD Programme to talented students who wish to develop a research career at one of the top European institutions in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Selected students will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge nanoresearch in a stimulating environment with access to outstanding research infrastructure.

The programme includes structured training with seminars, technical and transferable skills training, and periodic monitoring and evaluation activities. The goal is to support students' research careers and promote international and interdisciplinary research, encouraging mobility, collaborations, and conference participation.

Research areas include Nanomaterials & Nanofabrication, Nanocharacterisation, Modelling and Simulation, and Application Areas such as Health, Energy, Environment, and Quantum Technologies. Candidates will choose research groups during the application process.

Requirements
  • Master's or equivalent degree in a relevant scientific field by the date of incorporation.
  • Excellent academic record and strong commitment to research.
  • Previous research experience is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Additional eligibility criteria may apply depending on funding schemes.
