JOB PURPOSE:

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a highly skilled IT Data Architect to join our dynamic team.

The role is part of the Enterprise Architecture team.

The newly created Ice Cream Technology function will drive the technology set-up, standalone design and implementation of all required technology capabilities to enable Unilever’s Ice Cream business to become a fully functioning standalone company, separate from Unilever.

The IT Data Architect is responsible for designing and managing centralized, end-to-end architecture solutions. This role involves determining strategic data and AI requirements, ensuring they are scalable and aligned with business objectives. The IT Data Architect collaborates with various stakeholders to gather requirements and provides technical leadership as needed.

The successful candidate will be one that has significant IT expertise with a proven record of leading large-scale transformations and has a passion for building world-class IT standards, environments, and E2E tech architecture that make a meaningful impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Data Solutions: Designing data architecture solutions that are in line with long-term business objectives.
2. Data Infrastructure: Designing data infrastructure that supports complex data analytics services.
3. AI Design: Evaluate and architect scalable AI solutions that integrate seamlessly with business and IT infrastructure.
4. Data Management: Develop data management strategies and policies.
5. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data architecture.
6. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to development teams, promoting best practices and standards, to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including developers, operations, and business teams, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
8. Performance Optimization: Ensure Data and AI solutions deliver benefits and are optimized for performance.
9. Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data and AI solutions.
3. Technical Skills:

• Expertise in SQL, Oracle and data visualization tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java.
• Experience in AI, machine learning and data science.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
