Marketing Specialist – International Institute in Spain

Location: Madrid, Spain

Contract Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The International Institute seeks a highly motivated Marketing Specialist to enhance our digital presence, support community engagement, and optimize communication across all channels. This position focuses on increasing awareness of the International Institute and strengthening the IIE’s brand.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Website and Improved User Experience (UX): Maximize the potential of the IIE website to reach new users. Create and manage targeted landing pages to support campaigns and programs. Apply SEO best practices including keyword research, trend monitoring, and technical optimization. Maintain and update the website to ensure content is current and relevant.
  2. Content Strategy and Brand Management: Translate the Institute’s mission into high-quality digital content. Maintain brand consistency in visual and editorial content to enhance educational and cultural impact. Ensure all public communications reflect a unified tone and voice.
  3. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Audience Segmentation: Use Salesforce tools to segment and engage audiences. Analyze user data to inform content and outreach strategies. Help optimize user journeys from first contact to conversion and retention.
  4. Social Media Management: Coordinate and produce content across social channels. Collaborate with instructors and partners to create high-quality images and videos. Monitor analytics and adapt strategies accordingly.
  5. Institutional Communication and Outreach: Conduct market research and competitor analysis. Support external communications and outreach efforts. Manage an editorial calendar for PR opportunities. Write press releases and pitch stories to the media to promote programs and events. Build media relationships.
  6. Design and Promotional Materials: Create branded brochures, flyers, and digital assets aligned with the Institute’s style guide.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Over 3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or related roles within education or cultural institutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Knowledge of SEO, CRM systems, CMS (e.g., WordPress), and social media platforms.
  • Strong design sense, aesthetics, and brand consistency.
  • Analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (C1 or above), with excellent writing skills in both languages.
  • Self-motivated, curious, with a genuine interest in education, culture, and international exchange.
