Job summary

Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)- BarcelonaTECH seeks a researcher to analyze and improve emergency management for extreme weather in Europe, joining a team focused on hydrometeorology and data-driven flood risk reduction.

You will build a European floods database, assess forecasts, and collaborate with INLINE partners to evaluate added value of developments for emergency response to storms and floods. Fluency in English and Catalan/Spanish may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent (Education Level)
• Master's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering as required

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve emergency management for extreme weather phenomena in Europe.
• Generate a database of floods on a European scale.
• Evaluate hydrometeorological forecasts on a European scale.
• Collaborate with INLINE project teams to survey the added value of developments for emergency management related to storms, heavy rains and floods.
