AECOM in Madrid is looking for an experienced Associate Director – T&D Protection & Control Substations to lead the design and review of protection and control systems for high voltage substations.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate multi-discipline teams, and ensure projects meet safety, reliability, and performance standards from concept through commissioning, with a hybrid work model in Madrid. You will interface with clients and vendors to align technical solutions with project goals.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 12–15+ years of protection and control engineering experience for HV substations.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams across multiple project phases.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and engineering of protection and control systems for HV substations, including schemes and automation.
• Define protection philosophies, control architectures and communication interfaces per project needs.
• Review detailed secondary engineering deliverables: schematics, interlocks, relay settings and design specs.
• Perform or review protection coordination studies and relay settings.
• Ensure integration of protection with SCADA, networks and primary equipment.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning, including relay settings and testing procedures.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
