INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking a highly motivated HV Procurement Engineer for large-scale Solar PV and BESS projects based in Australia and New Zealand. The role involves procuring HV equipment and services, ensuring timely delivery, technical compliance, and cost-effective purchasing throughout the project lifecycle.

The position is based in Madrid, Spain, with frequent travel to New Zealand during procurement and project execution phases.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years procurement experience in utility-scale renewables, transmission, substations, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV electrical equipment and systems.
• Experience working for EPC contractors or major infrastructure projects.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the procurement of HV equipment, including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, protection and control systems, HV cables, and substation equipment.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, technical inquiries, bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations.
• Review supplier quotations for compliance with specs and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Logistics, Quality, and Planning teams.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on technical and commercial terms.
• Monitor manufacturing progress, FATs, shipping, and delivery schedules.
• Support supplier prequalification, vendor evaluations, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Manage purchase orders, procurement documentation, supplier correspondence, and reporting.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced HV Procurement Engineer to join our team on large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects based in Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of High Voltage (HV) equipment and services, ensuring timely delivery, technical compliance, and cost-effective purchasing throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, project management, construction, logistics, quality, and international suppliers to support large-scale EPC renewable energy projects.

This position will be based in Madrid, Spain, with frequent travel to New Zealand during the procurement and project execution phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of High Voltage (HV) equipment, including:
• Power transformers
• GIS/AIS switchgear
• Protection and control systems
• HV cables
• Substation equipment
• Grid connection materials and associated electrical equipment
• Prepare and issue RFQs, technical inquiries, bid evaluations, commercial comparisons, and procurement recommendations.
• Review supplier quotations to ensure full compliance with project specifications, technical requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Logistics, Quality, and Planning teams throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Participate in technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor supplier manufacturing progress, inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), shipping, logistics, and delivery schedules.
• Support supplier prequalification, vendor performance evaluations, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Manage purchase orders, procurement documentation, supplier correspondence, and procurement reporting.
• Support contract administration activities, including claims, variation orders, and commercial clarifications where required.
• Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure on-time project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company procedures, project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within utility-scale renewable energy, transmission, substations, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of High Voltage electrical equipment and systems.
• Experience working for EPC contractors or major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to review technical specifications, datasheets, drawings, and supplier documentation.
• Good understanding of international procurement processes, Incoterms, logistics, and contract administration.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Preferred Experience

• Procurement experience on utility-scale Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Experience procuring equipment for HV substations (33 kV-400 kV), including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and grid connection infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand utility standards and grid connection requirements.
• Experience working with leading international High Voltage equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
• Experience in multicultural, multidisciplinary, and international EPC project environments.
