OVERVIEW

The Academic Coordinator plays a crucial role in the institution, overseeing all academic programs and ensuring their alignment with institutional goals under the supervision of the Global Academic Director. The Academic Coordinator is responsible for managing the correct development of the present academic programs, assisting in designing the curriculum, identifying and training faculty members, and creating new academic opportunities for the center. They work closely with the Administrative and Student Life Coordinator in Toledo and the Academic Director in Madrid, as well as the academic leaders from the US Universities and the program faculty and students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and implement a vision for local academic programs.
  • Provide leadership to faculty to improve course content and develop competencies.
  • Develop new academic offerings and ensure high-quality teaching methods.
  • Ensure academic integrity and rigor in curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Coordinate policies and procedures related to academic management.
  • Attract, recruit, develop, and retain faculty for all courses delivered at the Center.
  • Evaluate faculty performance, providing feedback and support to achieve academic goals.
  • Implement academic services, such as academic advising, tutoring, and career development.
  • Drive robust relationships with other academic institutions.
  • Develop the program calendar and student schedule according to recommended standards of best practice.
  • Provide empathetic leadership in addressing complex interpersonal dynamics for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Analyze program evaluations on a regular basis and provide leadership with assessment.
  • Continuously assess the curriculum to address any concerns and to create a robust and interesting set of course offerings that meet the needs of students and partners.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract more students to the program.

REQUIREMENTS & OFFER:

  • Doctoral degree preferred in a relevant field, preferably social science, education, or leadership (applicants holding a Master’s degree and fulfilling the other requirements will be considered).
  • Understanding of the US higher education system.
  • Previous experience in international education programs as a teacher, professor, or administrator.
  • Strong leadership, mediation, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff as well as independently with minimum supervision.
  • Availability to work in Toledo in person.

A full-time employment contract is offered with a salary to be agreed upon and the possibility of own accommodation in an independent apartment in the center of Toledo as remuneration in kind.
