The selected candidate will prepare fractions of plant cell walls, using methodologies to enrich these fractions in glycans and purify and characterize the molecules able to trigger plant immune responses. The selected person will evaluate early defence responses such as Calcium fluxes, synthesis of reactive oxygen species (ROS), activation of MAP kinases, and perform gene expression analysis using qRT-PCR. Also, she/he will perform resistance assays using different plant-pathogen systems.

The candidate must have proven and extensive experience in mass spectrometry, chromatography, and techniques for cell wall purification and fractionation, sugar quantification and characterization. Experience in analyzing plant defense responses to elicitors is also required. Additionally, experience handling various plant pathogenic microorganisms will be considered an asset. This experience must be demonstrated by coauthorship in relevant articles.
The candidate must have contrasted experience in a biotechnology lab (preferably more than 2 years). Proven extensive experience in mass spectrometry, chromatography, and cell wall purification and fractionation techniques, sugar quantification, and characterization. Experience in analyzing plant defense responses to elicitors is required. Handling various plant pathogenic microorganisms is an asset. Demonstration of experience through coauthored articles is necessary.
