A leading university is looking for an R&D Technician to join their Conformance and Validation Test Laboratory in telecommunications technology. The successful candidate will engage in critical tasks related to the testing and validation of 5G user equipment, involving hands-on experience with RF instruments and opportunities for international collaboration and learning.

Formación

• Accredited experience in programming wireless devices.
• Proven knowledge of 5G systems and services.
• Hands-on experience with RF instruments.

Responsabilidades

• Work in the Conformance and Validation Test Laboratory of 5G User Equipment.
• Participate in deploying a new laboratory for 5G testing.
• Engage in activities within the Radio Communications Research Group.

Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to break a problem down into its parts, think critically about each element, and use the

information available to form an effective solution.

• Managing of technical documents and searching for proper information to organize and develop specific tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot a malfunctioning RF instrumentation setup.
• Good communication skills to explain and present the results of a work.
• Writing and speaking English skills with a demonstrated proficiency.
• Ability to manage engineering software tools. At least, MATLAB, XIRIO and COMTEST

Specific Requirements

• Accredited experience on programming of wireless devices.
• Proven knowledge on current 5G systems and services.
• Accredited hands-on experience on RF instruments.
• Demonstrated knowledge on mobile communication systems.
• Knowledge on short range wireless communication systems, i.e. Bluetooth.
• Accredited experience in the use of OTA test tools

Additional Information

The selected candidate will be integrated in the Radio Communications Research Group (GRC) of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), so becoming a member of the staff and taking part in its activities. The selected candidate will participate in the deployment of a new laboratory for conformance and test validation of 5G user equipment in the 26 GHz mmWave band. The selected candidate will enjoy the opportunity to travel abroad in order to get familiar with and learn about similar labs already installed in other countries.
