Descripción del empleo

Ever dreamt of a profession where you call the shots on where you work? Welcome to Safeguard Global! We're all about making work fit your life, not the other way around.

Our Work in Any Way approach means you can call your couch your office or a café halfway across the world your boardroom, while still having the flexibility to make school runs and essential errands, which may include a detour to a scenic park to continue your workday and meet deadlines.

We are seeking a Payroll and HR Specialist to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Human Resources for our guardians throughout Europe. This role will manage the administrative tasks for the HR function in the EMEA region and support the HR team to ensure all employees are enabled and empowered to perform at their highest potential.

The key responsibilities of this role include payroll, HR admin, and benefits. There is also an opportunity to work with the broader HR team on various local and global projects and to interact with team members worldwide.

In our business, it's all about our values. We are looking for a talented individual with high accountability and genuine care for their colleagues.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with internal teams and external payroll providers to ensure smooth payroll processing.
  • Collect and provide payroll inputs for multiple EMEA countries.
  • Develop knowledge of local country guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance, partnering with payroll, benefit, and tax providers for support.
  • Provide payroll and benefits reports to stakeholders, finance, and governmental agencies as required.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee queries regarding pay and benefits via CRM (Zendesk). Assist employees with benefit enrollment and life events.
  • Manage benefits administration and billing, including healthcare, pension plans, or SOC1 audits as needed.
  • Update and maintain employee lifecycle data in the HR system (e.g., new hires, terminations, compensation changes, organizational changes).
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports, and participate in projects as needed.
  • Support onboarding, new hire documentation, and orientation training.
  • Assist with HR compliance projects.

For this role, you should have:

  • At least two years of experience in payroll and/or HR administration.
  • Strong Excel skills, especially for reconciliation and analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Knowledge of relevant HR and payroll laws and best practices.
  • Interest and aptitude in technology and HR systems, preferably Workday.
  • A love for numbers, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and excellent client service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in business English, with adaptability for different audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
