Descripción del empleo

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a HR Manager based in Spain.

This role is responsible for building a strong, well-supported team within a fast-moving and collaborative remote environment. You will own the full employee lifecycle, from workforce planning and recruitment through onboarding, development, employee relations, and offboarding. Working closely with leadership and managers, you will ensure people processes are structured, fair, and aligned with business needs. You will combine hands‑on HR expertise with a strong understanding of technology and games industry talent. The role also provides an important channel for employees to raise concerns, resolve challenges, and strengthen workplace culture. Your work will directly contribute to engagement, retention, psychological safety, and sustainable team growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across the organization, partnering with hiring managers from role definition and sourcing through interviews, offers, negotiations, and hiring.
  • Plan hiring proactively around production and business needs, identify workforce gaps, maintain dynamic candidate pipelines, and ensure timely candidate communication.
  • Build and continuously improve structured hiring processes, including clear role requirements, consistent interview stages, technical assessments, scorecards, ATS workflows, candidate experience, and recruiting metrics.
  • Coach managers on interviewing, decision-making, HR policies, and people-management practices.
  • Benchmark compensation and design competitive offers that align with market conditions, budgets, internal consistency, and candidate expectations.
  • Own onboarding processes to ensure new hires receive the access, context, support, and guidance needed to become productive quickly.
  • Manage HR operations including employment contracts, payroll processes and forecasts, leave and vacation management, benefits, employee records, and offboarding.
  • Handle employee terminations professionally and fairly, ensuring appropriate documentation, legal compliance, clear communication, and respectful treatment.
  • Serve as a trusted and approachable HR partner for employees, providing a neutral channel for conflicts, frustrations, and personal workplace concerns.
  • Identify unhealthy team dynamics and early signs of attrition, helping employees and managers address issues through constructive communication and practical problem-solving.
  • Partner with leadership and the wider HR team on engagement, well‑being, inclusion, psychological safety, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Contribute to remote-team rituals, events, and initiatives that strengthen connection, collaboration, and a positive employee experience.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and technology to streamline HR workflows, improve processes, and support more efficient ways of working.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of HR experience, including experience within medium‑to‑large technology organizations.
  • Strong full‑cycle recruitment experience across technical and creative positions, ideally within the technology or games industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to run hiring processes that are both efficient and rigorous, using structured interviews, technical assessments, and scorecards.
  • Hands‑on experience with salary benchmarking, compensation planning, offer design, and negotiation.
  • Broad HR experience beyond recruitment, including onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Confidence handling conflict and difficult conversations with neutrality, sound judgment, and an understanding of team dynamics.
  • Experience managing active candidate pipelines and maintaining strong candidate engagement throughout the recruitment process.
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leadership to shape company culture, values, employee engagement, and workplace climate.
  • Autonomous, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of HR improvements and prioritizing competing needs.
  • Approachable, trustworthy, discreet, and able to recognize when an issue requires escalation.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using AI tools regularly and interested in applying them to improve HR workflows and processes.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence, with the ability to understand Jira reports and project information.
  • Familiarity with Slack and experience contributing to effective communication practices in distributed teams.
  • Genuine interest in games and players, with an understanding of the importance of hiring people who connect with that environment.
  • Experience working in fully remote, multi‑country teams is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Maltese employment law or experience hiring across multiple EU countries is advantageous.
  • Training or certification in coaching, mediation, or conflict resolution is a plus.
  • Experience with HR analytics, including engagement surveys, attrition, and absence tracking, is beneficial.
  • Personal interest in games, particularly multiplayer or competitive shooters, is welcome.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote working environment across Europe.
  • High level of autonomy, ownership, and trust in a self‑managed team.
  • Close collaboration with senior leadership on culture, people strategy, and workplace improvements.
  • Opportunity to shape HR processes and employee experience within a growing, cross‑disciplinary environment.
  • International and distributed team culture built around open communication, collaboration, and shared goals.
  • Opportunity to introduce modern HR practices and AI‑powered workflow improvements.
  • Meaningful influence on engagement, well‑being, inclusion, and psychological safety.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a player‑focused games environment and its evolving team culture.
