Job description

Role Purpose

The HR Intern supports the Spain HR team across the whole employee cycle – recruitment, onboarding, HR administration and the international mobility of employees relocating from China to Spain – during the build-up of AESC's first gigafactory in Spain. Speaking Chinese, Spanish and English, the intern acts as a language and cultural bridge between Chinese, Spanish and international colleagues, helping expatriate and local employees feel welcomed, informed and supported from day one.

The role works closely with the HR team in Spain and at AESC headquarters in China, hiring managers from all departments, and external providers (immigration advisors, relocation agencies, payroll provider, universities and public employment services). It is a learning role: the intern will gain hands‑on experience in 360º recruitment, Spanish HR practice and global mobility in a greenfield industrial project.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Support job posting on LinkedIn, the ATS, job boards, universities and public employment services; screen CVs against the agreed key skills and schedule interviews.
  • Keep candidate databases and the vacancy tracker up to date; translate interview notes and candidate summaries (ES / EN / ZH) for hiring managers.
  • Prepare onboarding and offboarding: documentation checklists, welcome packs, induction agendas, IT and access requests, and exit paperwork.
International Mobility & Support to Chinese Employees
  • Help prepare immigration files for employees and assignees coming from China (visas, work and residence permits, NIE / TIE, family members), under HRBP supervision and with external advisors.
  • Book and, when needed, accompany appointments (Extranjería / police, empadronamiento, Social Security, bank account, medical insurance) and support housing search and arrival logistics.
  • Be a first point of contact for Chinese employees in Spain: answer practical questions, interpret in HR meetings and help them settle in Madrid or Extremadura.
HR Administration & Payroll Support
  • Keep personnel files and HR systems up to date (new hires, contract data, absences and leaves).
  • Collect and check monthly payroll inputs (new hires, leavers, absences, variable pay) for the HRBP and the payroll provider.
  • Prepare standard HR letters and certificates, and keep HR reporting (headcount, vacancy tracker) up to date in Excel.
Translation, Communication & Employer Branding
  • Translate HR policies, procedures, forms and internal communications between Chinese, Spanish and English.
  • Support HR events, trainings, job fairs and university relations, and help prepare HR content for internal channels and LinkedIn.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
  • Education – Enrolled for the 2026-27 academic year in an official Bachelor's or Master's degree (or university-owned degree) in Human Resources, Labour Relations (RRLL), Psychology, Business Administration, Law, Translation & Interpreting, East Asian / Chinese Studies or similar, at a university able to sign an internship agreement with AESC (directly or through FUE). Recent graduates only through Options B, C or D below.
  • Languages – Chinese (Mandarin): native or HSK 5+. Spanish: C1 or native. English: B2 minimum.
  • Tools – Good MS Office skills, especially Excel (tables, filters, basic formulas), Outlook and Teams.
  • Availability – Minimum 6 months, with a schedule compatible with studies and within the limits set by the university (see Internship Framework).
  • Location – Based in Madrid or in / near Navalmoral de la Mata, or willing to relocate. On site, with occasional travel between both offices.
Highly valued
  • Master's degree in Human Resources in progress.
  • Previous internship or work experience in HR, administration, relocation / immigration services or customer-facing roles.
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish employment law, payroll concepts and immigration procedures (visas, NIE / TIE, Social Security).
  • Driving licence.
