Job Summary

The HR Generalist implements and administers Avient's human resources services, policies, and programs. This position assists in decision-making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, rewarding, and developing the industry’s best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant.

Essential Functions

  • Administers Avient's HR policies, programs, and procedures for the employees in the assigned group, including salary and wage administration, benefits inquiries, retirement plans, recruitment, HR information systems, payroll / time and attendance recording, organizational development, and training plans.
  • Partners with the recruiting team and business units to staff and hire hourly, non-exempt, or lower-level exempt positions.
  • Ensures utilization of Avient reward and recognition programs.
  • Coordinates onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Develops requisitions for business unit positions.
  • Assists with employee counseling, conflict resolution, and performance improvement programs, working directly with employees and managers as needed.
  • Develops fundamental knowledge of business units, including customers, competitors, products, markets, and key metrics.
  • Gains exposure to manufacturing environments through visits to business unit plants.
  • Performs special projects as requested.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Recruiting and Staffing, HRIS, Interviewing, Performance Management, HR Generalist roles.
  • Personal skills include stress management, attention to detail, self-confidence, self-motivation, analytical skills, time and priority management, multitasking, independence, teamwork, organizational skills, conflict resolution.
  • Software skills include Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, Ariba, SAP HR.
