Job summary

Grand Hyatt Barcelona is seeking a detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our luxury hotel’s housekeeping team. This full-time role (40 hours per week) offers rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and focuses on delivering Hyatt's high standards of cleanliness and guest care.

As Room Attendant you will clean and prepare guest rooms, make beds, stock supplies, report maintenance needs, and greet guests in line with Hyatt service culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms according to Hyatt standards.
• Make beds with fresh linen per brand standards.
• Dust furniture, lamps, shades, pictures, doors, and fixtures.
• Vacuum and spot-clean carpets.
• Clean, wash, and dry bathroom areas.
• Replace guest supplies in rooms and bathrooms.
• Report linens or bedding needing replacement.
• Assist guests courteously, including handling trays/newspapers.
• Collect and return worksheets, HotSOS devices, and keys.
• Report rooms with Do Not Disturb signs or not requiring service.
• Report rooms needing extra cleaning after procedures.
• Safeguard master keys and hotel property.
• Report malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards.
• Report suspicious activity to Security.
• Handle lost and found items per hotel procedures.
• Ensure guest doors are secured and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Greet guests promptly in Hyatt service culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About the Role
As a Housekeeping Attendant (Room Attendant) at Grand Hyatt Barcelona, you play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring guest rooms consistently meet Hyatt's standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. This is an operational full‑time position (40 hours per week), with rotating shifts according to hotel needs, including weekends and public holidays. You will work closely with the Housekeeping team, contributing to daily hotel operations and a positive, collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing assigned guest rooms in accordance with Hyatt brand standards and hotel procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Removing all rubbish from waste bins and ashtrays
• Making beds with fresh linen according to brand standards
• Dusting furniture, lamps, shades, pictures, doors, and fixtures
• Vacuuming and spot‑cleaning carpets
• Cleaning, washing, and drying all bathroom areas
• Replacing guest supplies in rooms and bathrooms
• Washing paintwork and doors as requested by the Floor Supervisor
• Reporting linens or bedding requiring replacement
• Assisting guests courteously, including removal of trays or newspapers
• Collecting and returning worksheets, HotSOS devices, and keys at the beginning and end of each shift
• Reporting rooms with Do Not Disturb signs or rooms not requiring service
• Reporting rooms requiring extra cleaning following established procedures
• Safeguarding master keys and all hotel property
• Reporting malfunctioning equipment, maintenance needs, or safety hazards
• Reporting suspicious activity immediately to Security
• Handling lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures
• Ensuring guest room doors are properly secured at all times
• Maintaining cleanliness and proper use of housekeeping equipment
• Greeting guests promptly and courteously in line with Hyatt service culture
• Performing other duties as assigned by management
