Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design of civil works for high-voltage electrical substations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Civil Design and Engineering : Perform and / or review basic and detailed engineering designs in high-voltage substations, including earthworks, grading, platforms, and slopes.
• Surface and underground drainage systems.
• Foundations for high-voltage equipment.
• Control buildings, relay rooms, warehouses, and other auxiliary buildings.
• Conduits for power and control cables.
• Internal and perimeter access roads, and pavements.
• Retaining walls, perimeter fencing, and physical security systems.
• Oil containment systems for transformers.
• Perform and / or review structural and geotechnical calculations necessary for the design of foundations and structures.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications for materials, equipment, subcontractor selection, and execution of civil works.
• Prepare and review construction drawings, calculation reports, measurements, and budgets.
• Ensure the correct integration of civil designs with the requirements of electrical equipment and electromechanical layouts.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of bids from civil works contractors.
• Supervise the on-site execution of civil works, ensuring compliance with designs, technical specifications, deadlines, and quality and safety standards.
• Manage the technical interface with civil contractors, quality control laboratories, and other stakeholders.
• Resolve technical problems and non-conformities that arise during the construction phase.
• Review and approve material testing and quality control protocols (concrete, steel, soil compaction, etc.).
• Collaborate in carrying out feasibility studies, geotechnical, topographical, and hydrological studies.
• Participate in the preparation of technical documentation necessary for obtaining construction licenses and permits.

Requirements :

The ideal candidate will have expertise in civil design and engineering, particularly in high-voltage substations. They must be able to perform and / or review basic and detailed engineering designs, as well as prepare detailed technical specifications for materials, equipment, subcontractor selection, and execution of civil works.

Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will need to manage the technical interface with civil contractors, quality control laboratories, and other stakeholders.

They must also be able to resolve technical problems and non-conformities that arise during the construction phase.

Proficiency in software tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D or MicroStation is desirable.
