Job Description - Health & Safety Technician (16173)

Job Description

Health & Safety Technician ( 16173 )

Description

Join our team at easyJet Airline Ltd as a Health Technician in Spain! In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring a compliant and effective Health and Safety Management System in our Overseas (non-UK) areas, with a focus on meeting the specific requirements of Spanish regulations. You'll also provide general support to our operations in Portugal and other destinations as needed.

Reporting to Senior Health & Safety Manager and working closely with the Spanish HR team and base management, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of our Safety Plan, H&S Plan, and local "plan de prevención." Your key tasks will revolve around maintaining the "plan de prevención de riesgos laborales" and ensuring accessibility for advice, guidance, and support regarding Health & Safety issues in Spain.

We're looking for a pragmatic, hands-on influencer who can effectively manage H&S in a higher risk environment. Responsibilities include overseeing activities in Spanish employment centres, acting as the main point of contact for H&S advice, supporting union meetings, tracking mandatory requirements, managing supplier relationships, and leading various assessment programs.

This role requires close collaboration with central teams: including Facilities, Cabin and Flight Operations to help define, implement and embed H&S standards and best practices. Building strong cross functional relationships will be essential to ensure the delivery of key targets and elements of the easyJet Airline Company Limited Health & Safety Plan.

What you need to do this role

To excel in this role, you must possess a formal Health & Safety qualification, specifically a "Técnico Superior de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales". Your role will involve managing the "Plan de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales" and bringing it to life within our organisation, ensuring compliance with local regulations and labour laws. Experience in audits, inspections, risk assessments, and working alongside HR teams is crucial, particularly in the context of aviation or similar high-risk industries, with a minimum of three years' experience preferred.

Additionally, proficiency in spoken and written English is essential for effective communication within our European team.

Previous experience working with unions will be advantageous in navigating the complexities of labour relations. If you're ready to leverage your expertise in Health & Safety to drive compliance and best practices in a dynamic aviation environment, we encourage you to apply and become an integral part of our team.
