The Role

Airservices Australia is on a journey of transformation and optimisation, with a strong focus on our people. We are seeking an experienced and passionate senior leader to support our people capabilities and overall organisational deliverables as the Head of Talent and Capability in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney.

Reporting directly to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our organisation's strategic talent and capability plans across Australia, including leadership development, talent & capability, and talent acquisition functions.

This position combines operational hands-on delivery with strategic thinking. Core responsibilities include :

  • Developing and executing our organisation's talent strategies
  • Delivering expert advice to our Executive Leadership Team and Board
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to address critical talent-based capabilities
  • Driving a high-performance culture with clear accountability and results
  • Coaching, developing, and retaining high-performing teams and leaders
  • Developing and implementing policy frameworks and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Leading transformational change initiatives across functions
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the Talent and Capability Department
  • Overseeing impactful learning and development programs, including executive leadership training
  • Modeling the 'Know Me, Focus Me, Value Me' leadership standard

The Person

This is a key leadership role where you will influence and impact the future of our people and organisation. We seek an experienced senior leader and talent & capability expert who can shape the future of our people and organisation. The ideal candidate will have :

  • A Masters degree (MBA, Organisational Psychology, Business) or equivalent
  • Experience working directly with C-suite Executives and Board Members
  • Cross-functional management experience within talent lifecycle departments
  • Proven ability to interpret strategy and policy to set and deliver talent objectives
  • Strong leadership and management skills to build high-performing teams
  • Competence in creating and implementing guidelines, policies, and frameworks
