Position Description

The Head of Regional Business Management : Microbiology, Microbiome, Research leads regional strategy, sales execution, and market development for QIAcuity dPCR and QIAseq NGS kits across microbiology, microbiome, and broader research applications. This role drives commercial success by developing targeted strategies, engaging key opinion leaders (KOLs), and fostering partnerships with research institutions, academia, and industry stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines deep scientific knowledge with business acumen to position the company as a leader in advanced molecular research.

Key responsibilities :

  • Strategic Sales Execution : Develop and implement sales strategies for QIAcuity dPCR and QIAseq NGS kits, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue targets across microbiology, microbiome, and research segments.
  • Scientific & Product Expertise : Drive adoption of Sample-to-Insight workflows, differentiate solutions for microbial detection, microbiome profiling, and advanced research applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships : Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, research institutions, academic labs, and industry partners to strengthen market presence.
  • Market Intelligence & Growth : Analyze product usage, competitive landscape, and market trends to identify opportunities for expansion and differentiation in microbiology and research.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Training : Lead strategic projects, support customer collaborations, and oversee internal training to enhance team expertise in dPCR and NGS applications for microbiology and research. Line management of a small team.

Position Requirements

  • Strong experience in sales, business development, or market strategy within microbiology, microbiome, or related research fields.
  • Deep scientific knowledge in molecular biology, microbiology, or genomics, with the ability to translate complex data into strategic decisions.
  • Proven ability to engage KOLs, academic leaders, and research stakeholders to drive market influence.
  • Track record of line managing cross-functional teams and executing high-impact projects.
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., MD, or equivalent) preferred; business experience in dPCR and NGS required.
  • Based in Europe with availability and willingness to travel approximately 60% across the EMEA region.
