Vice-President of Technology and Engineering

We are looking for a dynamic Vice-President of Technical Advisory and Engineering to lead the strategic, operational, and financial direction of our business unit. In this pivotal role, you will drive innovation to secure competitive advantages in the renewable energy sector and ensure the successful delivery of projects across our diverse service offerings. This position calls for a leader with strong strategic thinking and the ability to foster collaboration across regions, aligning the business unit’s goals with the company’s overall objectives. You will influence the future direction of the business, working closely with executive leadership and industry partners to shape and expand the business unit’s impact within the renewable energy space.

Position Overview

The Vice-President of Technical Advisory and Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational, and financial aspects of the business unit dedicated to renewable energy advisory services. This position is key in driving business growth, expanding market share, and ensuring profitability through a wide array of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive top-line revenue in renewable energy advisory services and engineering solutions.
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities, including emerging markets and technologies, initially within sectors such as solar, wind, and energy storage.
  • Oversee service portfolio expansion, optimising sales and profitability.
  • Lead efforts to grow market share by positioning the offerings to create a strong value proposition.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality services by the Business Unit to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and experience.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to anticipate industry trends and challenges, ensuring competitive edge through innovation.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring continuous engagement and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive innovation across the business unit by introducing new products and services that respond to changing market demands.
  • Mentor technical teams and serve as a subject matter expert, guiding industry best practices in renewables technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in technical advisory or engineering roles within the renewable energy industry, ideally including leadership positions.
  • Proven track record in managing business units, driving revenue, and meeting profitability targets.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, regulatory environments, and technology trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster innovation and lead high-performing teams.
