AUTIS is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead cross-functional coordination across engineering and manufacturing. You will align mechanical, electrical, control systems, software, and field service to deliver complex automation projects.

The role demands strategic thinking, capacity planning, and strong leadership to optimize resources, develop KPIs, and drive continuous improvement across design, development, manufacturing, integration, and commissioning.

Formación

As part of our continued growth and organizational development, we are looking to recruit an Operations Director.

The Challenge

We are looking for a professional capable of leading the cross-functional coordination of our engineering and manufacturing departments, ensuring that highly specialized teams operate as a cohesive, efficient organization aligned with the company\'s overall objectives.

This position will have cross-functional responsibility across:

• Mechanical Engineering.
• Electrical Engineering.
• Control Systems (PLCs and Robotics).
• Computing and Software Development.
• Machine Vision.
• Automotive Installation and Commissioning.
• Industry Installation and Commissioning.
• Field Service (SAT) and Technical Support.
• Mechanical Manufacturing Workshop.
• Electrical Manufacturing Workshop.

The mission of this role is to ensure that AUTIS has the capacity, expertise, organizational structure, and coordination required to successfully deliver current projects while preparing for future business demands.

This position will also serve as a bridge between Executive Management and the day-to-day technical operations of each department, building strong relationships with technical managers, understanding their operational challenges, and translating those needs into priorities, action plans, and coordinated decisions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Analyzing the capacity and workload of the various departments, taking into account ongoing projects, confirmed orders, and future business forecasts.
• Anticipating workload imbalances, bottlenecks, critical skill shortages, and underutilized resources.
• Coordinating with department managers and Human Resources to identify recruitment, training, internal mobility, temporary staffing, and external resource requirements.
• Facilitating collaboration between technical departments by managing dependencies, priorities, and shared resource needs.
• Establishing and leading cross-functional technical coordination meetings with department managers.
• Ensuring technical challenges are openly shared, prioritized, and transformed into actionable improvement initiatives.
• Identifying critical knowledge dependencies, key personnel, and technical continuity risks.
• Promoting knowledge transfer, documentation, and the development of critical competencies.
• Working closely with the Project Management team to support overall resource planning and proactively identify operational risks.
• Developing KPIs related to capacity, productivity, schedule adherence, quality, rework, and operational efficiency.
• Participating, together with department managers, in the assessment of team performance, potential, and development needs.
• Driving the continuous improvement and standardization of operational processes, particularly during the transition between Design, Development, Manufacturing, Integration, Commissioning, and Field Service.
• Promoting a culture of planning, cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Actively contributing to the evolution of the company\'s planning tools, ERP systems, and business intelligence capabilities.

The Profile We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in Operations Management, Engineering Management, Project Management, or Technical Leadership within engineering companies, industrial automation, systems integration, machinery manufacturing, or similar technology-driven environments.

We will particularly value:

• A university degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Experience working in project-based organizations.
• Expertise in capacity planning and resource management.
• Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring operational and performance indicators.
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central), planning tools, and Business Intelligence solutions.
• Professional proficiency in English.
