Formación

Descripción del empleo

At Omya, we are seeking an experienced Head of Operational Controlling Europe to lead a team of Controllers dedicated to cost controlling, standard costing, and performance monitoring of Omya Plants and Functional Cost Centres.

This role is key in ensuring high levels of standardisation and automation across the controlling landscape, delivering timely and accurate closings and in-depth analysis of plant performance. You will collaborate closely with Group, Regional, Area, Country Finance and Operations teams to support planning and decision-making through transparent, high-quality financial information.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Performance Management

  • Implement a harmonised system for reviewing and explaining variances against plan, targets and previous year.
  • Ensure the controlling team can interpret complex financial data and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with Operations to translate financial insights into actionable business language.
  • Ensure operational needs are properly integrated into reporting systems and tools.

Reporting, Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Guarantee timely, accurate reporting and full compliance with deadlines.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the controlling area.
  • Own and update controlling process documentation in coordination with Group and Regional teams.
  • Promote harmonisation and standardisation of reports and tools.

Budgeting & Planning

  • Manage the standard costing process, including cost centre planning.
  • Support annual target setting and coordinate forecasting processes.
  • Lead the development of planning and reporting tools to support strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a team of Controllers through coaching, training, hiring and succession planning.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and operations stakeholders at all levels to enhance overall business performance.

Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Omya’s internal controls, process documentation and compliance standards.
  • Monitor policy adherence and recommend internal control improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 7 years’ experience in finance / controlling, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Master in business administration / finance, CPA, CMA or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of Omya Costing Manual and SAP COPA.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel; experience with BW is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Courage to challenge status quo and provide objective feedback to senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, results-driven and comfortable in a multicultural, matrix-based organisation.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Additional languages are a plus.

Willingness to travel (approx. 10%, mainly for projects or team-related activities).
