Approach People Recruitment is seeking a senior events leader for Madrid to drive the LATAM portfolio and oversee cross-functional teams. This role requires coordinating Production, Audience, Marketing, and Operations, delivering on KPIs, and shaping content strategy from HQ in a global context.

You will work with local and international leadership, travel as needed, and manage growth initiatives with a strong emphasis on performance and revenue targets.

Formación

  • 6+ years in conference or content production within events.
  • Experience in tech-sector content production or willingness to learn the digital infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Proven experience managing teams, implementing development plans, delivering training.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the functional leads across Production, Audience, Marketing, and Operations for the LATAM portfolio.
  • Act as the central point of leadership and escalation for the Madrid-based events team.
  • Ensure the production forward plan for the team is on track, with KPIs and deadlines consistently met.
  • Run weekly project meetings with the events team, setting weekly KPIs and deadlines.
  • Take an always-on approach to identifying training needs and upskilling the team.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to hit strategic growth and content goals.
  • Align with other regional Portfolio Directors to ensure a cohesive content and customer experience strategy across regions.

This is a pivotal leadership role for the growth of our client's series, including Saas and IT events. As the business scales, this role is also a key leadership presence in the Madrid office, acting as a local leader while embedding global best practice driven from HQ. The successful candidate will work closely with both local and international leadership, and will need to bring people together across teams and reporting lines to deliver first-class events across the region.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the functional leads across Production, Audience, Marketing, and Operations for the LATAM portfolio
  • Act as the central point of leadership and escalation for the Madrid-based events team
  • Ensure the production forward plan for the team is on track, with KPIs and deadlines consistently met
  • Run weekly project meetings with the events team, setting weekly KPIs and deadlines
  • Take an always-on approach to identifying training needs and upskilling the team
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement Personal Development Plans
  • Partner with the MD of Events to shape the P&L and overarching content strategy for the Connect series (including Compute and Investment)
  • Work with the MD of Events (and Chief Growth Officer where applicable) to build 3-year growth plans for the LATAM Connect series
  • Implement a rigorous Go/No-Go process for new event launches
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to hit strategic growth and content goals
  • Align with other regional Portfolio Directors to ensure a cohesive content and customer experience strategy across regions
  • Act as the quality control layer across all production output, driving world-class content, speaker line-ups, and commercial agendas — leading on content-driven revenue innovation
  • Work with Editorial, Broadcast, Training & Intelligence teams to ensure an integrated content strategy and maximize cross-collaboration opportunities
  • Build strong external client and industry partner relationships, staying close to industry news and developments
  • Support Sales in creating new sponsorship inventory and meeting/exceeding revenue targets
  • Align with Marketing on event strategy to hit revenue and audience targets
  • Work with the Head of Audience to align content strategy with ideal customer profiles and new audience segments
  • Work with the Head of Operations to ensure top-tier customer satisfaction across speakers, delegates, and sponsors
Process
  • Own strategic forward planning to ensure effective resourcing of the events team year-round
  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration across production, marketing, audience, sales, and operations
  • Proofread and stress-test all event agendas before publication
  • Build a strong relationship with the Editorial and Broadcast teams to leverage their industry knowledge
  • Moderate select content sessions, reinforcing your position as a face of the brand
  • Implement best-in-class standards for onsite event and content delivery
What you'll bring
  • University educated (2:1 or above, or equivalent)
  • 6+ years' experience in conference or content production within events (ideally with publishing exposure)
  • Experience in tech-sector content production preferred, or strong eagerness to learn the digital infrastructure ecosystem
  • Proven experience managing teams, implementing development plans, delivering training, and building high-performing teams
  • Experience working with regional markets including Spain
  • Excellent communicator with advanced interpersonal skills, able to manage relationships and influence key internal and external stakeholders
  • Approachable, natural leader
  • Willingness and ability to travel to events
