Job summary

1inch is seeking a senior DevOps leader to define and execute a strategy that scales infrastructure with the business. You will lead an engineering team, drive automation, and ensure security and compliance across multi-cloud environments.

You will shape deployment practices, build self-service provisioning tools, and establish reliable SLIs/SLOs for critical services, while managing cost and performance in a fast-growing DeFi tech ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure with 3+ years in a management role.
• Proven track record scaling DevOps teams in fast-paced tech environments.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge: cluster management, networking, security.
• Automation mastery with Terraform (IaC) and GitOps practices.
• Cloud architecture with multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, others).
• Solid understanding of service mesh and microservices.
• Observability with metrics, logging, tracing tools.
• Security-minded CI/CD practices and secure software delivery.
• Strong communication to explain complex tech to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset balancing long-term strategy with hands-on problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a DevOps strategy that aligns infrastructure growth with 1inch’s business objectives
• Team Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team while fostering a culture of automation and accountability
• Infrastructure as Code: Oversee multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters and ensure all environmental changes are managed via automated IaC and GitOps
• Developer Enablement: Standardise deployment processes and build self-service tools for secrets management and infrastructure provisioning
• Service Reliability: Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure the stability and performance of critical services
• Observability & Incident Management: Oversee the full monitoring stack and establish formal incident response and post-mortem processes
• Security & Compliance: Enforce "security by design" and maintain strict adherence to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 regulatory frameworks
• Cost & Efficiency: Lead infrastructure consolidation initiatives and monitor cloud expenditure to identify strategic cost-saving opportunities

Requirements:

• Leadership Experience: 8+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure with 3+ years in a management role
• Proven Track Record: Experience scaling DevOps teams in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments
• Kubernetes Expertise: Deep knowledge of cluster management, networking, and security
• Automation Mastery: Extensive experience with Terraform (IaC) and GitOps practices
• Cloud Architecture: Proficiency in managing multi-cloud environments (AWS, Hetzner, GCP)
• Technical Depth: Strong understanding of service mesh and microservices architecture
• Observability: Solid experience with observability tools for metrics, logging, and tracing
• Security Mindset: Practical experience implementing security best practices within CI/CD
• Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strategic Mindset: Balanced approach between long-term strategy and hands-on problem-solving

• Platform Engineering: Building developer-centric tools to increase engineering velocity
• Cloud Governance: Managing multi-provider cloud footprints and resource optimisation
• Incident Response: Leading high-pressure incident resolution and system recovery

Nice to Haves:

• Web3 Infrastructure: Specific experience in blockchain or decentralised finance (DeFi)
• Event-Driven Systems: Knowledge of message brokers such as Kafka or NATS
• Chaos Engineering: Experience with resilience testing and fault-injection practices
• Edge Computing: Familiarity with CDN optimisation and edge-based service delivery
