We are seeking a Head of Communications to lead all communications, internal and external, for Spotify across Southeastern Europe, with a particular focus on Italy, Spain, and Turkey. This role entails balancing critical thinking with hands-on implementation and leading proactive and reactive communications from planning to execution.

The successful candidate will ideally combine senior experience across all aspects of communications from corporate, consumer, and sensitive comms, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with complementary functions such as marketing, government affairs and music / podcast teams across owned, earned, shared and paid channels.

This role will be a direct report to Spotify’s Head of Communications in Europe, working as part of a distributed-first Europe Communications team across several offices.

What You'll Do

  • Lead external & internal communications for Southeastern Europe with a focus on Italy, Spain, and Turkey and covering all aspects of our business.
  • Act as a trusted communications counsel to the Southeastern Europe leads team as well as to other business leaders based in Milano or Madrid when required.
  • Draw upon your extensive experience to confidently - and where necessary autonomously - navigate time-sensitive issues and challenging situations with a cool head and safe pair of hands.
  • Play an active role on the local leadership team driving strategic conversations and decision-making processes with business partners.
  • Bring discernment and creative thinking to developing, planning and project managing communications programmes aligned to Spotify’s business objectives that enhance and protect the company’s reputation across our priority markets in the region.
  • Create integrated, 360° strategies that support the company’s mission and the region's local business growth goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in the region to ensure the consistency of our narrative across all channels.
  • Play a broader role within the Europe team, helping to elevate our company’s mission and narrative across the team as well as work closely with our Public Affairs, Marketing and other cross functional partners to develop strategic and impactful work that will resonate across the region with its diversity of cultures and audiences.
  • Be a proactive and dynamic partner to other senior leads within the EU region and broader global communications team feeding into campaign development, influencing plans and driving standard methodologies.
  • Have a strong network of key media, content creators and influencers in order to drive communication objectives and generate accurate and positive coverage.
  • Oversee local budgets and drive a culture of transparency and collaboration with local agency partners.

Who You Are

  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate and consumer communications at a global company (tech, media, entertainment).
  • An excellent storyteller and communicator with strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to advise and influence senior internal partners in a leadership role.
  • A proven track record of successful media and influencer relations and securing high-impact coverage.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Collaborative individual who enjoys partnering closely across teams and departments to build and distribute the most impactful communications possible.
  • Courageous and willing to try out new things and learn from them when they don’t work out as planned so that you understand what you can do next time to make it better.
  • A strong writer, strategic problem solver, and inventive problem-solver.
  • Fully bilingual in both English and Italian; proficiency in Spanish also ideal.
  • Ability to travel to Madrid for tentpole moments.
  • Fluent in AI tools.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Milan, Italy.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come to the office 2 to 3 times per week.
