A leading training organization seeks Hazardous Waste Compliance Specialists to localize a U.S.-based training program for environmental regulations in multiple countries, including Spain. Responsibilities include localization of course content and ensuring legal accuracy. Ideal candidates possess deep knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and experience in environmental consulting. This is a flexible remote role with an hourly freelance contract.
Freelance / Remote : – France, Germany, Italy, Spain or the United Kingdom
Contract Type : Hourly Freelance Contract (1099 or C2C)
Location : Remote (within UK, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain)
Duration : Through December 2025, possible extension
Estimated Hours : ~30 total hours (approx. 5 hours / week, variable over several months)
Hourly Rate : $ to be determined / based on experience
Language Requirement : Fluent in English + local language
Start Date : ASAP
About the Opportunity
ELB Learning is looking for several highly knowledgeable Hazardous Waste Compliance Specialists to support the localization of a U.S.-based training program to accurately reflect hazardous waste regulations and environmental practices in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom .
You’ll act as the country-specific Subject Matter Expert (SME) —ensuring all content aligns with your country's environmental laws, terminology, and best practices.
What You’ll Do
Review and localize course content to reflect national hazardous waste regulations.
Provide expert insights on :
Waste classification and profiling
Generator status
Accumulation, recordkeeping, and reporting
Emergency response and transport
Waste planning and minimization
Ensure legal accuracy and cultural relevance in training content.
Optionally support virtual instructor-led training (vILT), if qualified.
You’re a Great Fit If You Have :
Proven expertise in your country’s hazardous waste compliance regulations.
Experience in environmental consulting, compliance, or waste management.
Deep knowledge of waste-related topics such as profiling, minimization, and reporting.
Ability to communicate regulatory concepts clearly and accurately in English.
Bonus : Experience with corporate training or curriculum development.
Nice to Have (But Not Required) :
Relevant national certifications such as :
France : CSTMD, ICPE knowledge
Experience delivering or designing virtual instructor-led training (vILT).
