Hands-on Data Scientist Manager (AI start-up)

We have 3 new openings paying €87k + 10% bonus

Industry: AI software for Pharma, start-up - heavily backed by a global investor

Offices: Barcelona or Madrid

Our client, an AI tech firm, is revolutionizing the Pharma industry. As 2025 approaches, we are seeking 3 Lead Data Scientists for roles based in Madrid or Barcelona. Prior management experience is not mandatory, but mentoring and coaching skills are essential.

Key questions for candidates:

• Do you understand how the data you work with impacts the business?
• Are you passionate about Tech / AI and its potential to improve Healthcare?
• Can you thrive in a start-up, agile environment and work well with people?

Required technical experience:

• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL
• Experience leading an AI lab and developing AI products
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming, AWS Lambda, crontab, APIs
• At least 4 years of experience with Machine Learning methodologies
• Business acumen and stakeholder management experience
• Experience with embeddings, generative AI, and fine-tuning large language models
• Skills in handling unbalanced data, using RF vs XGB, avoiding data leakage with oversampling
• PhD or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
• AWS experience is a plus
